Stree 2 has become a box office sensation, solidifying its position with a stellar first-week collection. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film collected an estimated Rs 255.35 crore in its first six days of release in India. On the seventh day, the film’s momentum continued, adding nearly Rs 20 crore to its total collection, taking the week’s collection to Rs 275.35 crore, reported Saccanilk. The film maintained a strong occupancy rate of 30.45% in Hindi on Wednesday, indicating its continued appeal among audiences.
The film, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, is a sequel to the 2018 hit Stree and is part of Dinesh Vijan’s extended horror-comedy universe, which includes films such as “Roohi”, “Bhediya” and “Munjya”. The overwhelming response to Stree 2 has further cemented its place in this unique cinematic universe.
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh highlighted the film’s stellar performance on social media. He said that the film showed the ability to maintain strong numbers even after the long holiday weekend. He stressed that despite the change in regular working days, Stree 2 continued to perform exceptionally well, especially on Tuesday (Day 6). Adarsh predicted that the film will cross the Rs 300 crore mark by the end of its first week, with the second week likely to be even more successful, especially with the Janmashtami holiday boosting its potential collections.
