iPhone 16 Plus Unveiled: What’s New in Price, Display, Camera, and More!

Apple’s highly anticipated September event, intriguingly named It’s Glowtime, is set to take place on September 9. As always, it’s creating a buzz by unveiling four new iPhones alongside other exciting hardware announcements. With just under two weeks to go, here’s a rundown of what we can expect from the upcoming iPhone 16 Plus, including its price, features, and specifications.

Price and Display

Rumours suggest that Apple will keep the iPhone 16 Plus’s price in line with last year’s model, which means we could see it starting at around ₹89,900 in India (approximately $899). The display is expected to remain a 6.7-inch OLED with a 60Hz refresh rate, but there’s a twist now. According to MacRumors, Apple might introduce micro-lens technology to enhance brightness while reducing power consumption. Additionally, the company could implement a Border Reduction Structure (BRS) to slim down the bezels, though it’s uncertain if this design tweak will extend to all models.

Camera Enhancements

As for the camera, the iPhone 16 Plus is expected to retain a similar setup to its predecessor, featuring a 48MP primary camera with an f/1.6 aperture and 2x optical zoom, as well as an ultra-wide-angle lens capable of 0.5x shots. However, there might be a slight improvement in the ultra-wide lens, upgrading from an f/2.4 to an f/2.2 aperture, which could enhance low-light photography by allowing more light to hit the sensor.

Processor and Performance

Reports suggest that Apple will equip all iPhone 16 models, including the Plus version, with the A18 chipset. This chip is designed to handle AI tasks on-device, promising robust performance across the board. However, there could be some differentiation in GPU performance between the standard and Pro variants. Additionally, a boost in RAM is anticipated for the iPhone 16 Plus, increasing to 8GB from the 6GB found in its predecessor, which should contribute to smoother multitasking and overall performance.

Design Changes

Design-wise, the iPhone 16 Plus is rumored to adopt a few noticeable changes. Apple may revert to a vertical camera layout reminiscent of the iPhone X and iPhone 12, moving away from the diagonal layout of recent models. This shift could not only be an aesthetic choice but might also enhance the phone’s ability to capture spatial video, aligning with the growing trend of immersive content creation.

Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the official launch date. It’s always exciting to see how Apple innovates and pushes the boundaries with each new release!
